Welcome! I am Katie Mason, a California-based therapist.
My therapeutic style is grounded in the belief that authentic relationships are healing. I work collaboratively with clients to support their process of self-discovery in a safe and non-judgmental space. I approach this work with openness and curiosity, and have been described as warm, authentic, sensitive, and easy to talk to. My philosophy is that all people are good and worthy of love.
With 10+ years experience working in schools, hospitals, government agencies and out-patient mental health, I am passionate about supporting individuals to grow. I guide clients towards more ease with themselves and in their relationships.
Understanding and making peace with our inner world is our power.
It is not easy to be human and life can throw incredible hardships our way. Even developmental stages, such as being a teenager or a new parent, can be stressful and daunting. There is no manual or storybook to guide us. At times that can leave us with doubt and feeling overwhelmed.
In these moments, it can be so helpful to have support so we feel less alone. Then the obstacles we’ve been facing seem manageable. When individuals overcome their obstacles, they develop new skills, gifts and personality traits that bring out a better version of themselves.
Just like so much in life, having more practice at intense moments increases our competency and confidence. We can achieve remarkable change and be far more resilient than we could imagine. Two things can be true at the same time: we can strive for meaningful change and at the same time we can love and accept ourselves just the way we are.

Therapy for Teens
With 20+ years of experience working with adolescents and their families, I help teens navigate this tricky time of life. Whether they're struggling with school stress, friendships, anxiety, depression, ADHD, body image concerns, or questions about identity and self-worth, I provide a supportive space to explore what's going on and build skills for coping and growth. When helpful, family sessions can be incorporated to strengthen communication and support lasting change.

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy
For adults 18 and older who feel stuck in long-standing patterns, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers a safe and innovative approach to healing. By combining ketamine with therapy, many people are able to access new perspectives, deepen self-understanding, and create meaningful, lasting change. This modality is safe, FDA-approved and I partner with medical providers for presecription and treatment planning.
